Hot-air ballooning is one of the most popular Atherton Tablelands Adventure activities. The carriages fly gently above. Marvel at the spectacular sunrise over Mareeba. The Tablelands boasts 300 sunny days a year. Along with the most consistent flying conditions in Australia, this makes it perfect ballooning territory. You will spot small fleets of balloons at sunrise, gently drifting above the fertile agricultural fields.

Explore stunning rainforest scenery

This region boasts historic savannah landscapes, mountain lakes, World heritage-listed rainforests and running streams. All are ideal locations to explore some lesser-known trails.

You can explore these on a bike, in a kayak, or during a hike for a full or half-day. Options are also available to do trike tours to check out the military sites, historic pubs, and waterfalls.

You can’t miss the world-famous Atherton Tablelands Adventure Waterfall Circuit. If you want to see all the best spots, you can join one of the spectacular waterfall tours the region has to offer.

Mountain biking trails will be found from Atherton, through to picturesque open forests, and also the Lamb Range near Mareeba, through to Davies Creek Mountain Bike Path.
