“Innot Hot Springs sits at the end of a long drive into the southern Tablelands, and the springs themselves feel like the landscape’s way of saying: you made it. You can relax now.”

Innot Hot Springs: Thermal Waters in the Remote Southern Tablelands

Innot Hot Springs is one of the Atherton Tablelands’ more unusual and rewarding destinations,  a series of naturally occurring thermal springs in the wild, open country of the southern Tablelands, well off the main tourist circuit and all the more satisfying for it. The springs bubble up from the ground at temperatures ranging from around 50°C to over 70°C, and the creek-side hot pools that have formed around them make for an extraordinary bathing experience in a genuinely remote setting.

The springs are accessible via the Innot Hot Springs Caravan Park, which manages the facilities around the main pools and allows day visitors as well as overnight campers. The pools themselves sit alongside the Nettle Creek, where cooler creek water can be mixed with the thermal spring water to reach comfortable bathing temperatures. The experience of sitting in a natural hot spring pool in the rainforest-fringed highland country of the southern Tablelands is one that stays with visitors long after they leave.

Innot Hot Springs is around 90 minutes south of Atherton via Ravenshoe and the Kennedy Highway, a scenic drive through open highland country. It pairs well with a visit to Ravenshoe’s Avenue of Honour and the southern Tablelands waterfall country on the way back north. Allow a full day for the round trip from Atherton or Cairns.

Travel Kindly

At Hot Getaways, care is our compass — and a little kindness makes every journey better. When you visit the Atherton Tablelands, we gently ask you to:

  • Tread lightly — stay on tracks and lookouts, and take special care around waterfalls, which can be slippery and swift.
  • Respect the wildlife — never feed the platypus, tree-kangaroos or birds, and observe them quietly from a distance.
  • Support local — choosing local operators, cafés and guides helps this beautiful place thrive.
  • Honour Country — we travel on the traditional lands and sea Country of Australia’s First Peoples, with gratitude and respect to the Traditional Custodians past and present.
  • Be kind to each other — a smile, a little patience and a helping hand make the day lovelier for everyone.

Small acts of care add up to something wonderful. Thank you for travelling kindly.
