The Atherton Tablelands has a range of local markets, which provide a great way to discover glorious fresh tropical food, art and craft.
You will be amazed at how much this region has to offer. The district markets are incredible local community ventures specialising in fresh local produce and arts and crafts.
Come along to get a real taste of local produce, pick up a rare souvenir or two, and chat with the locals. Various antique and arts and craft shops, art studios, and galleries are also available.
Archer Creek Market
When: 7:30 am to 12 noon every second Sunday of the month.
Where: 16 km west of Ravenshoe on the Kennedy Highway.
What: Plants, arts and crafts and local produce.
Atherton Market
When: From 7 am. First Saturday of the month.
Where: Platypus Park, Herberton Road, Atherton.
What: Plants, arts and crafts and local produce.
Herberton Market
When: 7:30 am to 12 noon. Third Sunday of the month.
Where: Woondecla Sports Ground. Herberton
What: Local produce, plants, arts and crafts.
Kuranda Rainforest Market
When: 9 am to 3 pm daily.
Where: Therwine Street, Kuranda.
What: Locally made jewellery, clothing, paintings, leatherwork, woodcraft, homemade tropical fruit ice cream, opals, gemstones, aboriginal artifacts, and food.
Malanda Country Market
When: 7.30 am to 12.30 pm. Third Saturday of each month.
Where: Jack May Park, Malanda.
What: Local produce, cakes, jams, homemade goodies, plants, arts and crafts.
Mareeba Monthly Market
When: 8 am to 12noon. Second and fifth Saturdays of the month.
Where: Heritage Museum, Centenary Park, Byrnes Street, Mareeba.
What: Local produce, homemade food, tropical fruits, local arts and craft.
Ravenshoe Monthly Market
When: 8 am to 12 noon. Fourth Sunday of the month.
Where: Tumolin Railway Station, Ravenshoe.
What: Fresh local produce, arts and crafts, Devonshire Tea, refreshments, trash and treasure.
Tolga Market
When: 7 am to 12 noon. First Sunday of the month.
Where: Morrow Park Racecourse, Tolga.
What: Local jams, fresh produce, hand-crafted items and clothing.
Yungaburra Country Market
When: 7.30 am to 12:30 pm. Fourth Saturday of each month. (and 3rd Sunday in December)
Where: Main Street, Yungaburra.
What: Hot food, arts and craft, pets and pet products, plants, fresh produce, gourmet food, clothing, books, flowers, furniture, wines and spirits, skincare and wooden toys.
