There’s nothing better than a magnificent view of the tropical rainforest, and that’s what the Atherton Tablelands Rainforest Tours offer.
You can’t visit the Atherton Tablelands without doing the rainforest and waterfall circuit! Each of the waterfalls is a classic cascade and unique in their way. You will marvel as they leap from the cliffs and plunge into the darkness of the pools below. They offer a place to soak your body and purify your mind after a long hike on gorgeous rainforest trails. Below are a few of our favourites we believe are unmissable.
To experience the sights and sounds of the rainforest at night is truly something special. The Rainforest Night Tour takes you on a journey through the Atherton Tablelands rainforest as it comes alive at night. With a small group and excellent guide, you will experience this unique wildlife environment that few others get the chance to see.
About 80% of Australia’s wildlife is more active from dusk through to nighttime. This tour starts in the early afternoon, and we use spotlights in the dark to capture our unique animals up in the rainforest canopy. Your informative guide will show you some of the world’s most unusual animals. Some of which include the mysterious platypus, tree kangaroos, possums, gliders, bats, bandicoots, echidnas, snakes, frogs and many others.
Make sure you bring your camera! There will be many great photo opportunities. You will visit a giant of the rainforest. The ancient Cathedral Fig Tree. Take a cruise on Lake Barrine. Many animals emerge from the forest to bask in the sun by the lake. Keep a lookout for Water Dragons, Giant Eels, Snapping Turtles and water birds.
You will get to cool down with a swim in an extinct volcanic crater. The crystal clear water is surrounded by lush rainforest. On your travels will get to see the elusive Platypus! At the same location, the stunning Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo is often spotted.
