Millaa Millaa is a quaint rural town in the Atherton Tablelands in North Queensland.    With a population of 514 people according to the 2016 census.

With an annual rainfall of 659mm, this region has a temperature of around 29 degrees celsius and night feel like 20 degrees Celcius.  Fourteen rainy days per month.  Basalt’s well-drained and highly fertile soil makes this region ideal for farming.

Where is Millaa Millaa?

Ninety-eight kilometres southwest of Cairns, at an elevation of 821 metres above sea level and 1,648 kilometres north of Brisbane and 162.8 kilometres south of Port Douglas.

Before visiting the falls visit the Falls Tea House for delicious homemade food and cakes.  Then stop by the quaint village and walk along.

These Falls are heritage-listed, 18.3 metres tall, and made of volcanic basalt, with a grassed observation area facing the falls and a large pool below the falls.  Tropical rainforest surrounds the falls.

The Falls are one of Australia’s most photographed attractions, so bring your camera. You might even catch a glimpse of a platypus.

Artists, bring your easel. This is a stunning landscape waiting to be painted and photographed.

A popular drive throughout the Atherton Tablelands is the Waterfall circuit, visiting stunning waterfalls and quaint country towns.
