The Yungaburra Markets on the fourth Saturday of each month are the standout opportunity to meet local producers and makers. The Atherton, Malanda, and Mareeba markets each have their own character and are worth checking dates for when planning your visit.
Farm Gates and Artisan Producers
Coffee, chocolate, macadamia nuts, tropical fruit, and local dairy products are all available directly from Tablelands producers at various points around the region. Driving the back roads and stopping at handwritten signs is one of the great pleasures of a Tablelands visit.
Arts and Craft Studios
The Tablelands has a significant community of working artists — potters, painters, weavers, woodturners, and more — many of whom open their studios on weekends or by appointment. Purchasing directly from an artist is one of the most satisfying ways to take something genuinely Tablelands home with you.
